Vets Court

The Buffalo City Court, which established a drug treatment court in 1995 and a mental health treatment court in 2003, is now the first in the nation to have a veterans treatment court, according to this story in USA Today.
The defendants – military veterans or family members – have a chance to have criminal charges against them reduced or dropped by meeting the conditions set by the presiding judge. Typically, they have to get mental health or addiction counseling, find jobs and stay out of trouble.
The vets have to report to court monthly to update their progress and meet regularly with fellow veterans who volunteer as mentors to help them get back on track.
Seems like an idea worth trying.

I think this is a great idear. The court is right on the money. These veterans have suffered enough and we need to help them as much as we can This is their right and our obligation
