It’s that time of the year again. For the third year in a row, wounded veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan will be coming to Nyack to try their hand at bass fishing. The contest will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Nyack Boat Launch, which is at the foot of Spear Street in Nyack, near the Nyack Marina.
Local veterans will gather there, along with fishermen who will provide boats, rods, bait and other necessary items. many of the veterans will be coming from Bethesda and Walter Reed Military Hospitals.
They’ll spend the day fishing, and there will be a cash prize for the first, second and third largest fish.
The fishing contest is a partnership between the Wounded Warriors project and New York veterans.
