From the Stars & Stripes comes yet another story of a GI being treated less than honorably by the military after being discharged.
Army Spec. Jason Hubbard left the service under the “sole survivor” rule after both of his brothers were killed in Iraq, but was denied benefits because he left a year before his enlistment was up. The Army even kept his last paycheck, saying they were trying to recoup some of his enlistment bonus because he didn’t fulfill his contract.
Who is making these dumb decisions?
Thankfully, according to the story, legislation is being introduced in Congress to make sure this particular form of “military intelligence” doesn’t continue.
